Before I started going to SpinSity, I went through 2 years of chemotherapy and subsequent hormone replacement treatments. I became so depressed that I had a failing liver from the medications, gained 87 pounds, I also felt so lethargic and unmotivated from it all. My best friend suggested trying out this “hot new pole dancing studio” in concord claiming it would help me get my confidence and my health back after all I had been through; but she also wanted a pole dancing buddy. I honestly thought I was just going to embarrass myself because I could not dance to save my life. The first day we showed up, I felt so scared and wore the baggiest/ugliest outfit ever and even tried to hide I’m the back corner of the studio closest to the door just in case I wanted to run away. But after day 1, I fell in love with SpinSity and everyone there. All of the instructors and other students were really empowering and supportive; it gave me the courage to keep coming back, try harder and do better. I threw away that baggy/ugly outfit, my health is back to normal, I can fit in all my jeans again and I LEARNED HOW TO DANCE. I’ve never felt better or more confident in myself and I owe it all to SpinSity.
